Craftsmanship

Material

We only work with full-grain cattle and buffalo leather. All products are made of whole hides, the leathers being between 1.2 mm and 3.5 mm thick. Instead of using tanning agents like chromium or other heavy metals which can have detrimental environmental effects, we exclusively use vegetable oil and tree bark.  By using different hides and varying the tanning process, we can achieve a variety of colours and strengths. For more details, see the 'Creating Different Colours' section below.

Workmanship

The individual leather pieces are not cut by laser but by hand and stencil. Then they are tailored together by hand to create a unique, one of a kind item. The result is an indestructible leather product of the highest quality, whose raw materials are free of chromium and heavy metals!

Once in your possession, the leather will continue to evolve due to a phenomenon called patina. Exposure to sunlight, water, the oils of your skin, and even dirt will affect your products colour. This is the hallmark of high-quality vegetable tanning; a product that journeys with you through life, developing as you do. That means that no two products will ever be the same.

Creating Different Colours

Coffee
Items with a coffee colour are made from buffalo hide, with a thickness of about 2.0 / 2.2 mm which is boiled after the vegetable tanning with oil. The colour of this leather is obtained exclusively by the use of bark and oil.

Brandy
Items with a brandy colour are made from buffalo calf leather with a thickness of about 1.8 mm. After the process of vegetable tanning and boiling in oil, the bag is hand polished on its surface with hard wax and thus receives a two-tone brandy colour.

Cognac
Products with a cognac colour are made from buffalo calf leather with a thickness of about 1.4/1.8 mm. After the process of vegetable tanning and boiling in oil, the bag is hand polished on its surface with hard wax and thus receives a two-tone colour.
